Team disc golf is an outdoor team building programme in Varaždin, where teams of three compete on the disc golf course along Vodovodna Street. It lasts four hours, requires no previous experience and can continue with lunch or a reception.
Disc golf follows the same logic as golf, except that a disc is thrown instead of a ball and the target is a metal basket rather than a hole. The team that needs the fewest throws wins. It is a sport you learn in twenty minutes but can play seriously all day – which is why it works for teams that mix sporty types with people who are anything but.

Why disc golf
Nobody starts with an advantage
Most participants throw a disc for the first time in their lives. There is no one who has played this for twenty years, so teams do not split into those who know and those who get in the way.
Teams are balanced by result
Before the competition everyone plays one practice hole, and teams are formed according to those results. That keeps them even and the contest meaningful right to the last hole.
Outdoors, but not demanding
The course is flat, with no running and no physical contact. The programme works for almost any age range or fitness level within a team.
How the day looks
The programme starts at 10 a.m., but the start can be moved later depending on your schedule. The times below refer to a 10 a.m. start.
10:00 · Meeting point
We meet at the car park next to the city cemetery and walk to the disc golf course, about 250 metres away.
10:10 · Introduction
The basics of disc golf and throwing technique, kept short and without theory that gets forgotten anyway.
10:20 · Practice session
Every participant gets their own disc and 20 minutes to try out techniques with an instructor. There is one instructor for every six participants.
10:45 · Participant test
Everyone plays one hole. The results are used to balance the teams, not for scoring.
11:00 · Forming the teams
Teams of three are put together and the rules of the competition are explained.
11:10 · First round
Six holes are played, expected to take about 60 minutes.
12:10 · Break and refreshments
A break with refreshments and the announcement of the current standings.
12:30 · Second round
Another six holes. Teams set off in the order from the first round, so the leaders play under pressure.
13:30 · Announcing the winners
Scores are added up, the final standings announced and prizes awarded.
13:50 · End
The end of the sports part. From here the programme can continue with lunch, a reception or dinner.
Price
The basic price of the programme is €25.00 + VAT per person, for groups of 10 to 20 people. This includes a disc for every participant, instructors, running the competition and use of the course.

The sports part ends at around 2 p.m., a good moment to continue the day at the table. The Bedem restaurant sits beside the walls of the Old Town, so the afternoon can also be spent outdoors.

What to bring
Sports shoes and clothing – that is all. We provide the discs and all other equipment. The programme takes place outdoors, so if the forecast is poor we reschedule by agreement.
